You should try living down here in Tamp Bay Fitz.
Those bastards have spring training down here. Even at the Devil Rays home games. the F-ing Yankee fans out number the D-Rays like 2 to 1. We have cop cars that say "Purchased in part by the New York Yankees"
(I think it was in an effort to keep Straw out of jail.)

Bunch of bastards.

Gang,

The lovely amishrakefight.org domain has been migrated over to a new server by our webhost, Verio.

As a result, we lost about a week's worth of posts.

We don't expect any other problems, and everything is working normally now.

Sorry for any inconvenience, such as the post above this one that should have appeared below this one.

A Butter Patty from: Doc again
on Thursday, November 15, 2001 at 04:26:14 (GMT)

Okay, maybe "working normally" was an overstatement. I see the posts are showing up with Greenwich Mean Time instead of Pacific Standard Time attached, no doubt a function of the new server. Billy, if you're out there, is there anything we can do about that?

Shit, there's probably a lot more broken stuff in here too. Should be interesting.

A Butter Patty from:
on Thursday, November 15, 2001 at 19:40:42 (GMT)

so lets recap... luna has a new trailer and Dave has been banished to his room...Kurt is writing stories on his website that make readers want access to poison and as tho learning to subtract 2 hours from my biological clock to be on Pacific time wasnt challenging enough we now all have to add and or subtract to figure out what time it is in Greenwich...did I miss anything?

A Butter Patty from:

Turn my head for a moment and look what happens!!!

A Butter Patty from:

Ohhh GMT it's so continential. perhaps the Greenwhich demons were at the site yesterday could not access it at all.

A Butter Patty from:
on Saturday, November 17, 2001 at 04:29:44 (GMT)

ppx icqs:

my trailer is 10 lunas long and 4 lunas wide
but my studio is approximately 3 x 3 lunas.

trailers are 7' tall inside
that's 1.4 lunas
did you know that?

80 x 16 x 7 in feet
equals
16 x 3.2 x 1.4 in Lunas

LOL!!!!!!!

A Butter Patty from:
on Saturday, November 17, 2001 at 07:44:53 (GMT)

So, how many cubic Lunas is that?

A Butter Patty from:
on Saturday, November 17, 2001 at 09:47:58 (GMT)

Do the math, Sparky...

that's 71.68 cubic Lunas

A Butter Patty from:
on Saturday, November 17, 2001 at 23:33:44 (GMT)

Is a Luna going to be like like esperanto so we can understand that crazy Euro kilemeter stuff?

A Butter Patty from:
on Saturday, November 17, 2001 at 23:38:56 (GMT)

If a luna leaves Chicago going 75mph and another luna leaves Kansas City going 50mph how long will it take for each to reach Hectors Four Seasons?
(please allow for road conditions and construction delays)

The Arabs, Chechens and other foreigners have no guarantees of free passage out of Kunduz. Under a deal negotiated between the alliance and the Taliban in recent days, they are to be put in detention camps pending an investigation into their links to bin Laden's Al Qaeda terrorist network and may face trial by Islamic courts in Afghanistan.

For what it's worth, I remember the Beatles and how almost oppressive their influence was on the music of my childhood. They were also amazing. And the most interesting one of them to me was Harrison. I remember Bridgette Bell making me and Daisy Dillon hold hands in 1966 and dance to Beatles music (I don't know why I thought that was relevant, but the fact that my earliest memories center around that band is telling, I suppose). Sure, it's a little sad. But it wasn't unexpected or shocking to me. It's just a weird feeling that yet another tree has fallen, as my Dad would say.

"All Things Must Pass" is perhaps one of the greatest albums ever recorded, imo. It at least makes some of the short lists, and for good reason. I bought a 45 rpm of "Dark Horse" at the discount store for 68 cents before I reached the age of 11. I guess it's appropriate for me to at least note the passing of a profound cultural figure of my youth. I'll put on my shoes and head to work now and busy myself in the dailyness of life again - but with another reminder to carry with me that time, inexorable, doesn't stop. And the news from across the globe is somehow less important in light of that awareness of the transience of it all.
